Widows and widowers across the Cincinnati area will gather at The Barn in Mariemont on Nov. 1 for a daylong grief-support event.

The Soar Beyond Grief Community Day runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6980 Cambridge Ave. The program includes short talks, vendor and resource tables, group activities and lunch. Registration costs $29 per person through the event page.

Annette Meinzer, a certified grief coach and founder of Soar Beyond Grief, organized the gathering. WLWT reported on the event Oct. 21 after interviewing Meinzer on air.

Meinzer became a widow in 2015 after unexpectedly losing her husband, Ron. They had been married 22 years and had five children. On her organization's website, she wrote that the loss "changed everything" and led her to rebuild her life and discover what she calls a deep calling to help others in the same situation.

She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and lists more than a decade of experience in grief support, according to her biography. Her credentials include certifications as a grief educator, a coach and a life reentry practitioner.

The Nov. 1 program will include time to meet other widows and widowers, hear short talks and take part in activities focused on connection and encouragement, according to the event registration page. Organizers said a full schedule and activity details will be shared as the event approaches.

Specific speakers, talk topics and participating vendors have not been announced.

Residents can find registration details on the Soar Beyond Grief Community Day event page.
