All seven Forest Hills School District K-8 schools earned top rankings in Ohio from U.S. News & World Report, the district announced Oct. 27.
Nagel Middle School placed in the top 6% of more than 2,500 middle schools statewide. All six elementary schools placed in the top 14% of more than 3,000 elementary schools, according to the district's announcement. The six are Ayer, Maddux, Mercer, Sherwood, Summit and Wilson.
The rankings add to recent accolades for the Anderson Township district. Forest Hills earned the highest possible five-star rating on the Ohio School Report Card. The district also received five stars in academic achievement, early literacy, gap closing and graduation, according to the September 2026 board meeting recap. Maddux Elementary received a National Gold Star School designation from the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).
Superintendent Suzanna Davis said in the district announcement that the ratings honor all of the elementary schools and Nagel Middle School. She credited teachers, staff and students.
"While we always appreciate and are grateful for recognitions like this, our educators strive to go beyond the ratings to provide a world class educational experience that empowers all students to achieve personal success each day," Davis said.
The K-8 recognition follows a separate U.S. News report on high schools. Both Forest Hills high schools placed in the top 6% of more than 1,000 Ohio high schools. Turpin High School ranked 19th in the state with a graduation rate above 95% and an Advanced Placement (AP) participation rate of 82%. Anderson High School ranked 44th, also with a graduation rate above 95% and a 64% AP participation rate.
Turpin's enrollment stands at 991 students in grades 9-12. Anderson enrolls 1,166.
