Mariemont Elementary School landed at No. 27 out of 1,019 ranked Ohio elementary schools in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Elementary Schools rankings. The K-6 school scored 97.45 out of 100.
Ninety percent of students scored at or above the proficient level in math, and 88% hit that mark in reading, according to U.S. News. Both figures top the statewide averages of 49% in math and 55% in reading.
U.S. News rated the school's reading and math performance as "well above expectations." The U.S. News profile lists 514 students, 31 full-time certified teachers and a 17-to-1 student-teacher ratio.
The Mariemont City School District earned a 5-star overall rating on the 2024-2025 Ohio State Report Card, according to the district's website. Both Mariemont Elementary and Terrace Park Elementary ranked in the top 2% of Ohio public elementary schools for overall academic achievement on state assessments, the district said.
The U.S. News methodology weighs four factors equally at 25% each: math proficiency, math performance, reading proficiency and reading performance. Half the formula measures raw scores; the other half factors in socioeconomic demographics. The rankings use 2023-2024 state assessment data and cover only public schools because they participate in common statewide assessments.
