On the issues

Levy's policy positions, drawn from his campaign website, span economic restructuring, healthcare, housing, foreign policy and civil rights. All positions below are the candidate's own stated views.

Economy and workers: Levy calls for seizing the 100 largest corporations and transforming them into public property controlled by workers. He names Kroger and Procter & Gamble as two of six such companies headquartered in Ohio. He also calls for an across-the-board price freeze on essential goods. On artificial intelligence, Levy says technological progress should be harnessed under public ownership to shorten the workweek rather than displace workers.

Healthcare and housing: Levy supports establishing a universal, single-payer healthcare system free at the point of use. He calls for guaranteeing free abortion and recognizing access to gender-affirming care as a healthcare decision between a person and their doctor. On housing, he proposes a national rent cap so no one pays more than 20% of income on housing and a ban on evictions.

Foreign policy and military: Levy says he would fight to cut the Pentagon budget by 90% and dismantle the U.S. network of more than 800 military bases worldwide. "These forever wars have nothing to do with defense, or 'protecting democracy' …" Levy says on his campaign website.

Civil rights: Levy calls for full payment of reparations to Black Americans for slavery and Jim Crow, paired with what he describes as a massive federal investment in housing, education and infrastructure in historically oppressed communities. He also calls for outlawing what he describes as racist gerrymandering and voter purges that disenfranchise Black voters, and for enacting legislation banning discrimination in housing and employment.

Education: Levy supports canceling all student debt and making public education free from pre-K through college and trade school.

The Anderson-Mariemont Journal sent Greg Levy a candidate questionnaire. He had not responded as of publication.
