Mariemont's girls cross country team placed third at the New Richmond Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10, with three Warriors finishing in the top 10.

Sophomore Corinne Cline led the squad with a second-place individual finish at New Richmond High School. Junior Maria Mavridoglou came in fifth and senior Mary McIntosh placed ninth, according to Mariemont Athletic Director Tom Nerl on X.

The meet was the final regular-season invitational on Mariemont's schedule before the Cincinnati Hills League Championships.

Cline and Mavridoglou carry strong credentials into the 2026 season. In fall 2025, both qualified for the OHSAA state cross country meet after finishing third and sixth, respectively, at regionals. That marked the first time two Mariemont girls qualified for state in the same year. They were the eighth and ninth runners in the program's 47-year history to reach the state meet, according to Mariemont Warriors Athletics.

Cline was a freshman and Mavridoglou a sophomore during that 2025 state run. McIntosh, now a senior, joins them on a squad coached by head coach Jeff LeMay with assistants Steve Gorman and Cindy Gorman.

No individual finish times or team scores from the invitational were available.

The Warriors head to the CHL Championships on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Taylor High School. The meet is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
