Turpin cross country opens season at Centerville night race

Turpin's boys and girls cross country teams opened the 2026-27 season Saturday, Aug. 29, racing under the lights at Centerville High School's Saturday Night Lights invitational.

The meet started at 8:15 p.m. and drew teams from across the region. Roger Bacon, Harrison, Indian Hill and East Dayton Christian were among the schools on the entry sheet for the annual nighttime event.

All levels of the Turpin program competed. The school's athletics department said on X that several Spartans posted personal records while others came close, calling the meet a strong start to the season. Individual times and placements were not released.

Turpin competes in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. The Spartans' next scheduled meet had not been posted on the school's athletics site as of Aug. 29.
