Anderson Township's Board of Trustees loaded its Thursday, July 16 agenda with infrastructure items, including a request to authorize bidding on a new right turn lane at Beechmont Avenue and Eight Mile Road.

Township Administrator Vicky Earhart brought the turn lane bid request before trustees Dee Stone, Katie Nappi and Tom Hodges at the 4:30 p.m. meeting at Anderson Center, according to the public agenda posted July 15. The Beechmont/Eight Mile project is one of several transportation improvements the township is pursuing along the SR 125 corridor.

Also before the board: the Five Mile Road at I-275 improvement project, which has been in engineering since 2025 to address congestion at the interchange, and a contract award for the Senior Center Pavilion at Anderson Center. Earhart also presented trail engineering work for crosswalks at Windy Hills, Four Mile, and Salem.

The agenda items land amid a wave of infrastructure activity across Anderson Township. Construction on a new Public Works garage at the Operations Center campus on Beechmont Avenue is set to begin in fall 2026, financed by the township's 1994 TIF Fund with no new taxes. The current facility dates to the late 1940s, according to a December 2024 township planning update.

Separately, the Clough Pike at Newtown Road left-turn lane project, estimated at $1.5 million with ODOT funding about one-third, began construction in June 2026 and is expected to wrap by early 2027, according to the township's April 2026 newsletter.

The township's Comprehensive Plan survey went live July 7, seeking resident input on housing, transportation and economic development priorities for the next 10 to 20 years. The update is the fifth since the inaugural plan in 2005.

"Undertaking the process of creating a comprehensive plan is perhaps the most direct way to translate the desires of our residents into future decision-making that shapes the township," Nappi said in the April 2026 edition of Anderson Insights, when the planning process launched.

The next regular Board of Trustees meeting is Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 5 p.m. Residents can call 513-688-8400, ext. 1101, or visit AndersonTownshipOH.gov to confirm.
