Chamberlain University opened a Cincinnati nursing campus Aug. 20, its second Ohio location after a Columbus campus that has trained nurses since 2007.

The Columbus campus posted a 98.36% pass rate on the NCLEX in 2025, according to Chamberlain's Ohio program page. The NCLEX, or National Council Licensure Examination, is the standardized test every nursing graduate must pass before practicing as a registered nurse. A degree without a passing score does not produce a licensed nurse. The national pass rate for first-time U.S.-educated RN candidates was 69.1% in 2025, according to Nurse.com, citing the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

Average class size at the Columbus campus is 16 students.

The Cincinnati campus at 5905 E. Galbraith Road, Suite 3000, in the Kenwood Collection sits near the Anderson Township border in Sycamore Township. It is Chamberlain's 25th location nationwide, according to a BusinessWire release. The first cohort of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students began classes Aug. 31. Those students are on a three-year path and expected to graduate in 2029, the Loveland-Symmes Chronicle reported.

The Cincinnati campus runs the same program structure as Columbus. Students attend three semesters per year, each 16 weeks long and split into two eight-week sessions. Chamberlain offers up to six start dates annually with no waitlists.

Students begin in simulation labs, practicing clinical skills in simulated patient-care settings before moving into direct patient-care rotations with local health system partners.

"It brings a streamlined, three-year BSN program with hands-on simulation labs and direct clinical access right to our local community," Priya Shastri, executive campus director in Cincinnati, said on Chamberlain's Cincinnati campus page.

The campus can hold up to 450 students, according to the Loveland-Symmes Chronicle. Across both Ohio campuses, 52% of students are over age 25 as of fall 2025.

Chamberlain's Columbus campus received approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing in November 2006 and from the Ohio Board of Regents in January 2007, with classes starting in March 2007. The school has produced 1,942 Ohio alumni and awarded $422,000 in scholarships on its Ohio campuses in 2024 and 2025 combined, according to Chamberlain's website.

Chamberlain is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and its BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The first Cincinnati cohort is set to graduate in 2029.
