The Anderson Art Collaborative's Color Dash on Saturday, Sept. 5, left runners at Beech Acres Park wearing their finish lines.

The half-mile fundraiser at 6910 Salem Road in Anderson Township sent participants through stations of colored powder that coated their shirts as they ran. Each runner's white shirt became a different splattered canvas by the time they crossed the finish line, Local 12 reported.

The course ended with a goodie-bag station. A Wiener Dog Race followed at noon, and an Oktoberfest After Party capped the afternoon.

The Color Dash ran from 10 a.m. to noon, leading into Anderson Township's community Oktoberfest, which ran from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the same park, according to the Anderson Park District calendar. The Anderson Art Collaborative's Facebook page described the two events as running back to back, with the Color Dash kicking off the day. The Oktoberfest was free to attend.

Saturday, Sept. 5, marked the second year for the Color Dash, which the Anderson Art Collaborative organized as a fundraiser. The nonprofit, co-founded in 2020 by Nancy Fuller and Cindy Gajus, spotlights local artists on Cincinnati's east side. By May 2026, the group had connected with roughly 60 area artists, according to WCPO.

"We wanted a means of connection," Fuller said in a May 28 WCPO report about a separate Anderson Art Collaborative mural project at an Anderson Township metro station. That 46-foot mural and a mosaic off Beechmont Avenue made up of 160 tiles designed by residents are among the nonprofit's other community projects.

"Anderson has great people, great sports, great government, but art's missing here and that's been the main drive of our group," artist Sarah Ashley Cox said in the same May report.

The Anderson Park District's next special event at Beech Acres Park is A Fair of the Arts on Sept. 19.
