Four Forest Hills schools earned perfect five-star ratings on the 2025-2026 Ohio report card. The district overall landed in the state's top 10% of public districts.

Turpin High School, Maddux Elementary, Mercer Elementary and Sherwood Elementary each received five stars, the highest possible rating from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW). The district announced the individual results on Sept. 16, a day after ODEW released report cards statewide.

Anderson High School, Summit Elementary and Wilson Elementary each earned 4.5 stars. Ayer Elementary and Nagel Middle School received four stars.

Every school in the district met or exceeded state standards.

As we reported Sept. 16, Forest Hills was one of only 61 districts statewide to earn the top five-star overall rating. The mark is an upgrade from the district's 4.5-star rating on the 2024-2025 report card, when it placed in the top 12% of Ohio districts.

The jump came partly from gains in early literacy, where the district moved from four stars last year to five. Forest Hills also earned five stars in achievement, gap closing and graduation.

The district scored four stars in progress, which ODEW says reflects significant evidence the district exceeded student growth expectations. College, career, workforce and military readiness (CCWMR) held steady at three stars, meaning the district meets state standards in that category.

Achievement and progress each count for 25% of the overall score. The four remaining categories are weighted at 12.5% each.

In achievement alone, Forest Hills ranked in the top 8% of all Ohio districts, according to the district.

Local 12 reported that ODEW released report cards for every district in the state on Tuesday, Sept. 15. A three-star rating means a school or district has met statewide standards under the system, which uses stars and half-stars instead of letter grades.

The district, led by Superintendent Suzanna Davis, said it plans to release its annual Quality Profile later this fall. Copies will be mailed to households and posted on the Forest Hills website and social media channels. The Quality Profile supplements the state report card with measures beyond standardized test performance.
