The Turpin Spartans boys soccer team rolled past Batavia 6-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to a Turpin athletics score update, extending a tournament shutout streak that now spans three rounds.

The No. 1-seeded Spartans led 2-0 at halftime and added four goals after the break to finish the blowout at the 7 p.m. district semifinal. No. 10 Batavia never found the net.

Turpin has outscored opponents 24-0 through three OHSAA Division III tournament rounds. The Spartans opened with a 10-0 win over No. 15 Goshen on Oct. 20, followed by an 8-0 shutout of No. 17 Cincinnati Woodward on Oct. 24, according to the OHSAA Southwest 1 bracket.

Three straight shutouts by a combined 24 goals.

The district championship is set for Saturday, Oct. 31, at noon in Xenia. Turpin will face No. 2 Bellbrook, which beat No. 7 Dayton Belmont 4-2 on Tuesday night to advance.

Bellbrook entered the tournament at 14-1-3, according to the Xenia Gazette. In the Golden Eagles' semifinal win over Urbana, seniors Noah Kosins and Braden Poole each scored, along with junior Noah Feranec, and sophomores Julian Smith and Luke Yoder. Junior goalkeeper Jack Dewitt made one save in that 5-0 shutout.

The winner of Saturday's district final advances to the regional tournament, which runs Nov. 3–8 per the OHSAA soccer calendar. A regional win would send the district champion to the state semifinals Nov. 10–11.

Meanwhile, the tournament ended Tuesday for another area team. No. 3 Anderson fell to No. 5 Monroe in a Division III district semifinal that went to penalty kicks. The match finished 2-1 in regulation and overtime before Monroe won the shootout 8-7, according to OHSAA daily tournament results. The loss ended the Raptors' season on the same night Turpin advanced.

Turpin's path to a state title now runs through Bellbrook on Saturday in Xenia.
