Anderson Township residents can now read and comment on the draft 2026 Comprehensive Plan, a document that will shape the township's spending and development priorities for years to come.
The township posted the draft on its website after what it described as months of data collection and public engagement. The full document is available as a PDF through a Dropbox link on the announcement page.
The plan is headed for two public reviews before adoption. The Anderson Township Zoning Commission will review the document on Monday, Nov. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Center. The Board of Trustees is then anticipated to consider the plan on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Center, according to the announcement. The Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission will also review the plan early next year.
The announcement does not list a deadline for public comments. Residents who want to weigh in can email Sarah Donovan, assistant director of planning and zoning, at [email protected].
The announcement, written by Steve Sievers, said the plan update "will help township trustees and staff determine priorities for the future and a path to reach those goals." Beyond that description, the announcement does not detail the draft's specific proposals or land-use recommendations.
The plan matters. Comprehensive plans in Ohio guide zoning decisions, capital spending and development policy. Trustees and staff will use the adopted version to set the township's direction on housing, roads, parks and economic development.
Residents can read the draft now and submit comments by email. The first public meeting on the plan is the Nov. 16 Zoning Commission session at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Center.
