Heavy rain and strong storms are forecast to hit Anderson Township and surrounding communities Thursday, Sept. 10, with widespread rain expected to disrupt the morning commute.

FOX19 designated both Wednesday, Sept. 9, and Thursday as First Alert Weather Days. The station's weather team forecasts 1 to 2 inches of rain or more across the Tri-State before storms fade Thursday evening.

The National Weather Service's Wilmington office, which covers Hamilton County, issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area as of Wednesday morning.

Wednesday's highs are forecast in the 90s, with scattered storms developing in the afternoon and evening. FOX19 forecasts a low risk of severe weather late Wednesday into early Thursday. The heaviest rain arrives around noon Thursday, tapering through the afternoon.

No local emergency declarations or school-delay announcements had been issued for Anderson Township, Mariemont, Newtown or Terrace Park as of Wednesday morning. Residents can monitor the NWS Wilmington office and local media for watches and warnings as the storm system moves through.
