Dean Niemeyer shot a 37 to lead the Mariemont Warriors past Wyoming in a Cincinnati Hills League boys golf match at The Mill Course on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Mariemont athletic administrator Tom Nerl called it an important CHL victory for the Warriors. The win carries extra weight after Wyoming beat Mariemont 175-191 at Wyoming Country Club during the 2025 season.

Niemeyer paced the squad from the top of the scorecard. Ethan Hern, Ben McClorey, Grady Hurt, Owen Sleeper and Quinn McGahey rounded out the lineup and drew praise from Nerl for their team effort. Team total scores for the match were not reported.

Hurt, a freshman, has emerged as one of Mariemont's most productive golfers early in the 2026 season. He earned team medalist honors at the Bob Darwin Invitational outside Columbus on Saturday, Sept. 5, where the Warriors finished 14th out of 20 teams. That tournament, held three days before the Wyoming match, gave the young roster a test against statewide competition before returning to CHL play.

The Mill Course serves as Mariemont's home venue for league matches. It hosted the CHL Preview on Aug. 10 and a tri-match on Aug. 26 earlier this season. The course will also host the CHL Championship later this fall.

Darrell Calloway coached the boys golf program during the 2025 season. The 2025 roster listed Niemeyer as a sophomore and featured several underclassmen who appear in the 2026 lineup, including Hern, McClorey and McGahey.

The Warriors' next CHL match date has not been confirmed. The CHL Championship at The Mill Course remains the marquee event left on the schedule.
