Athletes, coaches and volunteers across the Mariemont City School District hit the fields and fairways Saturday, August 1, marking the official start of the 2026-27 fall sports season.

Athletic Director Tom Nerl, a certified master athletic administrator in his 20th year leading Mariemont athletics, welcomed the full community behind the Warriors program on X: "Good luck to all of our athletes, families, coaches, officials, bus drivers, custodians and volunteers who make the magic happen! Warriors — set your goals high and be better!"

Girls golf was first in action, teeing off at the Mariemont Classic at noon Saturday at Reeves Golf Course. The CHL Preview follows Monday, August 3, at 8:30 a.m. at the same course.

The fall calendar fills quickly from there. Girls tennis opens Monday, August 10, at 4 p.m. against Anderson High School at the Mariemont Elementary School courts. Boys soccer begins Friday, August 14, at 7 p.m. at The Seven Hills School, with the first home match Saturday, September 5, at 2:45 p.m. against Cincinnati Christian at Kusel Stadium.

Football fans won't wait long either. The Warriors scrimmage Thursday, August 6, at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (6:30 p.m.) and Thursday, August 13, at New Richmond (6 p.m.) before opening the regular season Friday, August 21, at Clermont Northeastern at 7 p.m. The Hall of Fame Game, the first home football game, is Friday, August 28, at 7 p.m. against Norwood at Kusel Stadium.

Circle two more dates: Homecoming is Friday, October 2, against Deer Park, and Senior Night is Friday, October 23, against Madeira. Both kick off at 7 p.m. at Kusel Stadium.

The Warriors enter the fall riding momentum from a strong spring. Both lacrosse programs won OHSAA Regional championships, with the girls finishing 19-3 and reaching the state semifinal before falling 13-14 to St. Francis DeSales, and the boys going 12-6 before a state semifinal loss to Bishop Watterson.
