The Mariemont Warriors girls golf team fell to Mt. Notre Dame, 191-223, on Monday, Aug. 24, at Terrace Park Country Club.

Three Warriors tied for the team's low score. Katelyn Finke, Shay Quinn and Sawyer Stickley each carded a 52 in the nine-hole match. Mt. Notre Dame's 32-stroke margin reflected the Cougars' depth across the lineup, but the Warriors showed balance of their own with three players finishing at the same number.

Quinn and Stickley are sophomores on head coach Meredith Ducey's roster, which also includes seniors Lily Billups and Charlotte Soller and sophomore Tessa Adam. Finke's role on the roster could not be confirmed.

Tom Nerl, who posts Mariemont athletics updates on X under the handle @mmontad, called it a competitive match in a post after Monday's round.

@mmontad: "The lady Warrior golfers lost a competitive match today vs. Mt Notre Dame at TPCC 191-223. The Warriors were lead by Katelyn Finke, Shay Quinn and Sawyer Stickley all shooting 52."

The loss came ahead of Cincinnati Hills League play for the Warriors. Their next match is Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 5:30 p.m. against Taylor High School at Little Miami Golf Course, a CHL conference contest.

Mariemont then plays a CHL tri-match at Camargo Golf Course on Monday, Aug. 31. The CHL Championship is Sept. 9 at Reeves Golf Course, followed by the OHSAA Sectional Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Reeves and the OHSAA District Tournament on Sept. 30 at Heatherwood Golf Course.
