Turpin girls soccer stayed unbeaten Tuesday, Aug. 25, rallying from a halftime deficit to earn a 1-1 draw at Eastern Cincinnati Conference rival Walnut Hills.

The Spartans trailed 1-0 at the break before Neka found the equalizer in the second half, salvaging a road point and pushing Turpin's record to 2-0-2 through four matches this season.

It marks the second time in four games the Spartans have shown late resolve. Junior Peyton Fitzgerald scored the game-winner in the final minute of the season opener, a 3-2 victory over Batavia, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. That match also christened Turpin's new turf field, installed over the summer.

Fitzgerald earned an Enquirer athlete-of-the-week nomination for the performance.

Road rally at Walnut Hills

The Turpin Spartans athletics account posted the halftime score showing the Spartans down 1-0 at the break, then confirmed the final 1-1 result and credited Neka with the equalizer. The comeback kept Turpin's unbeaten streak intact through the early portion of the schedule.

Walnut Hills, also an ECC program, held the lead for at least a half before Neka's goal leveled the match. No additional details on the Eagles' first-half goal or Turpin's second-half adjustments were released.

Season snapshot

Turpin has yet to lose in 2026. The Spartans opened with the 3-2 win over Batavia, then played Archbishop McNicholas on Saturday, Aug. 22. The McNicholas result has not been officially confirmed, though the 2-0-2 record accounts for two wins and two draws.

The strong start comes as the program settles into its new turf surface and looks to build momentum in ECC play. Turpin and Walnut Hills both compete in the conference, and Tuesday's draw counts toward league standings.
