Turpin High School ranked 19th and Anderson High School 44th out of nearly 1,000 Ohio high schools in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings, the Forest Hills School District announced Thursday, Aug. 20. Nationally, both landed in the top 7% of more than 17,000 schools evaluated.

Turpin's ranking puts it in the top 3% statewide, according to the school's announcement. Anderson falls in the top 6%.

In the Cincinnati metro area, Turpin ranked 9th and Anderson 12th out of 140 high schools.

"These rankings are a direct reflection of the outstanding work of our educators, support staff and our talented students," Superintendent Suzanna Davis said in the district's announcement.

Davis started as superintendent this summer and presented her District Momentum Plan at the Aug. 4 board meeting. The rankings arrived on the first day of the 2026-27 school year.

Recent academic honors

The rankings cap a stretch of recognition for the Anderson Township district. Both high schools earned Gold distinction on the 2025 AP School Honor Roll, placing them in the top 15% of more than 16,000 eligible schools. Anderson and Turpin offered nearly 30 AP courses during the 2024-25 school year.

The district also earned 4.5 stars on the 2024-25 Ohio School Report Cards, a rating that indicates it exceeds state standards and places it in the top 12% of all Ohio districts.

In fall 2025, 19 students from the two high schools earned commended or semifinalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Four were named finalists: Matias Moscoso Boedo of Turpin and Charlie Cox, Hifza Fatima and Luke Patterson of Anderson.

Both schools are located in Anderson Township and serve families across the Forest Hills School District's nine-school footprint. Families can view the full rankings breakdown on the district's website.
