The Turpin Spartans girls tennis team traveled to Seven Hills School on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for the program's first match of the 2026 fall season, carrying momentum from a breakthrough 2025 campaign that ended in the Division I OTCA Team Tournament Final Four.

Coach Gail Maundrell's squad finished 14-2 last season and knocked off Hudson, Jackson and Solon on its way to the state semifinals. Junior Alyssa Dittmann headlines the 2026 roster after posting a 13-1 record at first singles in 2025, a stat highlighted in the Cincinnati Enquirer's preseason area preview published Aug. 7.

The Spartans are deep.

Dittmann is joined by a returning group that includes Schweikert, Dunkle, Baldasare, Boberschmidt and Waits, among others listed on Ohio Tennis Zone's roster page. Turpin competes in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference and is classified Division I by the OHSAA.

Tuesday's opponent, Seven Hills School, is a Division II program coached by Tim Drew that competes in the Miami Valley Conference. The Eagles went 5-2 in recorded matches during 2024-25, including a 3-2 win over Anderson, though they were shut out by Chaminade-Julienne and St. Ursula Academy.

The OHSAA regular season opened statewide on Friday, Aug. 7. Sectional tournaments begin Sept. 28, with districts running Oct. 6-11 and the state tournament set for Oct. 15-16 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

The match score had not been posted as of Tuesday evening. Turpin's full 2026 schedule is available on the official Turpin athletics site.
