Turpin's boys soccer team rolled past Middletown 4-1 on Saturday, Sept. 19, in a match cut short by heat at the Spartans' home field.

The Turpin High School Athletics account on X called it "a scorcher … on the hill" before confirming the final score. The school's athletic department had posted a game-day announcement for the Saturday contest on goturpin.com. Officials did not specify how many minutes were played before the match was called.

No individual goal scorers or match statistics were available.

The win improved Turpin to 7-0-3 on the season, based on the Spartans' 6-0-3 mark entering the game. Turpin remains unbeaten. Its three draws are the only non-wins on the ledger.

Middletown does not compete in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, making Saturday's result a non-conference affair. In ECC play, Turpin stood at 3-0-1 through Sept. 16, according to conference standings. That placed the Spartans second behind Little Miami, which held a perfect 3-0-0 conference record. Anderson also sat at 3-0-1, setting up a tight three-team race at the top of the table.

Turpin's recent conference results include a 2-0 win over Milford on Sept. 10 and a 2-2 draw at Madeira on Sept. 12. The draw at Madeira is the lone blemish on the Spartans' ECC record.

The schedule gets tougher from here. Turpin travels to Princeton on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7:15 p.m. before hosting Little Miami in an ECC match on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., according to the team's MaxPreps schedule. The Little Miami game carries conference-standings weight, with both teams sitting near the top of the ECC entering the final weeks of the regular season.
