Mariemont's varsity girls volleyball team lost 3-0 to Wyoming at home Tuesday, Sept. 22, dropping the Warriors to 6-7 on the season and 2-5 in Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) play, according to the Mariemont athletics schedule.

Wyoming won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-15 before Mariemont pushed the third set to the wire. The Warriors fell 26-24 in the final frame, unable to force a fourth.

The loss completed a season sweep for Wyoming. The two teams met Sept. 10 at Wyoming, where Mariemont fell 3-1 despite taking the second set 25-23. This time, the Warriors could not steal a set.

Head coach Katie Davis's squad has now dropped to .500 after opening the season with wins over Blanchester, Bethel-Tate and Deer Park. Mariemont's six wins also include sweeps of Finneytown, Miami Valley Christian Academy and a five-set victory over New Richmond. But the Warriors are 2-5 in CHL play, with conference losses to Madeira, Taylor, Indian Hill and Wyoming twice.

The Sept. 22 doubleheader also featured a JV matchup at 5:30 p.m. before the 6:30 p.m. varsity contest. The JV result had not been posted on the Mariemont JV schedule as of Thursday, Sept. 24.

The varsity match was streamed on the Warriors Broadcast Network, one of three volleyball home games selected for broadcast this fall, according to the Mariemont athletics site.

Elsewhere in the CHL on Sept. 22, Taylor swept Indian Hill 25-13, 25-14, 25-21. Madeira swept Deer Park 25-16, 25-18, 25-20. Reading routed Finneytown 25-14, 25-5, 25-8, per the CHL schedule.

Mariemont returns to the court Thursday, Sept. 24, hosting Taylor at 6:30 p.m. at Mariemont High School in a CHL rematch. The Warriors lost to Taylor 3-1 on Sept. 8 in the first meeting between the two teams this season.
