Mariemont's girls soccer team ground out a 1-0 win over Wyoming on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Kusel Stadium, sending 10 seniors off on a soggy evening.

The Cincinnati Hills League victory pushed the Warriors to 6-1-2 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play. Mariemont has now won two straight.

Tom Nerl announced the result on X, noting the rain-soaked conditions and congratulating the team.

Ten seniors honored

The Warriors recognized a 10-player senior class before the match: Elizabeth Curran (#0), Ella Garrison (#1), MJ Stevens (#8), Alyssa Dewey (#11), Emme Padjen (#13), Jenna VanScoy (#14), Camdyn Bogle (#16), Meryck Bogle (#17), Hannah Iwanicki (#18) and Addy Zawaly (#19). Sisters Camdyn and Meryck Bogle were among the group honored at the home field.

Head coach Mike Haney leads the squad alongside assistant coach Michael Hanley and goalkeeper coach Eddie Marquez. The coaching staff has guided a team that has lost just once this season, a 4-0 defeat at Ross on Aug. 14.

CHL picture

In league play, the Warriors have beaten Madeira 1-0 on Sept. 2 and Wyoming 1-0 on Sept. 23. Both CHL wins came by the same slim margin. Mariemont drew 2-2 against Taylor on Sept. 9 and 1-1 against Indian Hill on Sept. 16, leaving the Warriors unbeaten in conference play through four matches.

Three CHL games remain on the schedule: at Deer Park on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Reading on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and at Finneytown on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

What's next

Mariemont travels to Badin on Saturday, Sept. 26, for a noon kickoff before returning to league play at Deer Park four days later.
