Turpin's football program beat Loveland at every level over the weekend, outscoring the Tigers 136-35 across varsity, JV and freshman games.

The varsity Spartans won 42-21 at Loveland on Friday, Sept. 18, in an Eastern Cincinnati Conference matchup. Loveland struck first, taking a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter. Turpin answered in the second quarter when running back James Wolfer punched in a rushing touchdown with four minutes left in the half.

Quarterback Will Schmittauer then gave the Spartans a 14-13 halftime lead with a rushing score with 10 seconds on the clock.

Turpin took control in the third quarter. Schmittauer connected with C. Poland on a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the period. He added a 30-yard scoring run with five minutes remaining, then found Poland again on a 10-yard touchdown pass with three minutes left. That 21-point quarter pushed the lead to 35-13. Schmittauer capped the night with a one-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to set the final at 42-21.

Across the game, play-by-play updates from the Turpin Spartans athletics account on X tracked five touchdowns for Schmittauer, three rushing and two passing.

On Saturday, Sept. 19, the JV squad rolled past Loveland 43-6 after building a 29-6 halftime cushion. The freshman team was even more dominant, winning 51-8 to improve to 5-0 on the season. The freshmen led 28-8 at the half before pulling further away in the second half.

Individual scoring leaders for the JV and freshman games were not available.

The three-game sweep sets up a Homecoming Week that coincides with Turpin High School's 50th anniversary celebration. The Spartans host West Clermont on Friday, Sept. 25. Forest Hills School District announced on June 26 that festivities would begin during the homecoming football pre-game.

West Clermont enters the matchup coming off a 43-41 win over Milford in Week 5, according to Yahoo Sports. Kickoff time for the Sept. 25 game has not been announced.
